Benjamin's 5th Angelversary

Yesterday was the day, 5 years ago, that Benjamin got his angel wings. He was stillborn at 27 weeks gestational, weighing 1lb. 1.4oz and 21in long. If you'd like to read Benjamin's story, it's here. I wish I could tell you that his birthday/angelversary gets easier as the years go by, but they don't. Some days are better than others. I fell apart on Saturday, but was pretty good yesterday. We did something different this year for Benjamin's birthday. My son Nickalaus is always playing and talking to his bubby Benjamin, and I believe him or at least hope he does. So we decided to have cupcakes and sing Happy Birthday to Benjamin. Nickalaus "helped" Benjamin blow out the candles. We all ate cupcakes, and then headed out back. We set off 5 balloons in Benjamin's memory. It was so sweet to see my little man singing Happy Birthday to his brother. I hope he never forgets him. I feel bad, because I don't think I can have anymore kids. If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know about my numerous miscarriages as well. Anyways, Nick said that bubby had a good birthday. Here are some tags that were made for me in the Myspace days, which was actually really helpful to me after our loss.

We also took some pictures during Benjamin's birthday party. Mom took a lot on her camera, and I'll share those with y'all when she gets them uploaded. For now, here are the ones I took with my camera.

The balloons we released for Benjamin.

Thomas cupcakes that Nickalaus picked out for bubby.
So that was our day. Momma, Daddy, Nana, Papa, Uncle Tyler, Bryan, Clayton, and Nickalaus all love and miss you Benjamin.

  1. Releasing the balloons sounds like a great way to remember him by, especially for Nick. *hugs*
