My last 2 weeks

Hello my dear's! I've had a busy last 2 weeks. First I'll tell you about the crafty things I've been up to.

I created a Burlap Fabric Flower Ornament for my shop. I really love the way it turned out. The center for the flower is an up-cycled vintage brooch. The present beside the ornament is an example of the beautiful free holiday gift wrapping that I'm doing for my wonderful customers. I also have some Christmas Headbands that I've added to my shop, and more to list. Also, my faithful readers will be the first to know about my Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale! I will give y'all the coupon code next week, so keep your eyes open!

So last Sunday, not yesterday, my dad got his first deer in Texas! Yay! So I spent all afternoon and night over at Mom and Dad's cleaning and grinding the meat. It's a big family thing with us. We all get together to help out with the deer meat. Then yesterday, Dad went deer hunting again. He ended up getting a wild boar! It's open season on boar's too. It was kind of weird, because we've never had a wild boar to cut and what not. Turns out, it's not much different than the deer. There's more fat on the meat of course, but it's pretty similar. So we had another family night cleaning, cutting, and grinding the boar meat.

So, that's what I've been up to. I really need to get started on Christmas crafts.

  1. While I was growing up, we'd process a couple of deer each year. Deer, squirrel, and rabbit were often on our dinner table. Times were tough and we were darn lucky to have the meat.

However, no wild boars here. That could have been interesting.
