Rolling with Heelys

I recently got the opportunity to work with Heelys through Business2Blogger. If you are living in the dark ages and have never heard of Heelys, let me tell you about them. They are a shoe and skate in one. You can flip out the wheels in the back of the shoes to skate around, or you can leave the wheels in and you have regular shoes. When you are skating in Heelys the skate term is heeling, hence the name.

Now, Heelys have been around since 2003. I remember the first time I saw kids in these shoes, and I was baffled at how they were skating in shoes. Then after I was told what they were, I was amazed. What a clever idea! Of course, there were those kids that seemed like they were trying to kill you by zipping in front of you with their shoes. Like the saying goes, kids will be kids.

Heelys has a new line of shoe skates for adults! Which worked out great for me because my son is too little for the shoes. Finally a chance for us grown ups to have some fun! So I went online and ordered my shoes. I received the shoes within 3 days! Talk about fast shipping, just what I like. I was like a little kid on Christmas morning. So I opened the box to admire my new shoes. Then I looked at the instructions on how to put the wheels in. The instructions were really easy and the wheels just popped right in, which is great for those of us who lack patience with that sort of thing.  I tried on my shoes with the wheels tucked in. Then I went and watched the video on how to skate. There was no way I was going to just wing it. It's been years since I went skating, [You all remember the skating rings and the Spice Girls right?] So once I felt confident enough, I went to my garage to practice, and then to the streets. Wow! I feel like I'm 13 again when I'm skating around in these!

Here are the shoes that I picked out on the right. They are the Wave, in grey and pink. I loved the different styles and colors that there are to choose from, but the Wave is more of my style. I like the pop of color that the pink gives. Not to mention if I want to run to the store, then they just look like regular tennis shoes. It was important to me that the shoes could be just regular tennis shoes when I wanted them to be. The Wave succeeded in pulling this off for me. The shoes are also constructed well, like they're not cheap Walmart shoes okay.  You know the saying, you get what you pay for? Well this is true with Heelys as well. They are a well constructed product. There is no tear on the bottom of my shoes from skating or ripping inside of the shoes from wear. They still look brand new! I also felt very safe and confident skating in my Heelys, but I will give the skate videos credit for that. If you want to be safe and avoid injuries, I highly suggest watching the videos on how to skate. Would you put together a bunk bed without reading the instructions? No I didn't think so. Don't take the risk with your safety either.

Remember Heelys are a Mom approved form of outdoor exercise! So what are you waiting for? You know you want to lose some weight and stay in shape. Get your pair today!

While I received this product to review, it has not affected my opinion of the product. This is 100% my honest opinion of the said product.
