Craft: PBK Transportation Art Knockoff

I posted this originally on a guest post at The life of Rylie.. and Bryce too!, but I like to have my crafts where y'all can find them [left hand side bar link].

So I had seen this cute idea on Pinterest, which I'm obsessed with.

The original idea came from Pottery Barn Kids. I don't know about you, but I'm am not pay $69 for something that my son is going to grow out of eventually. Sorry! So of course, you know what I did right? Made my own :o)

So here's what you need to get started: Canvas [mine's 8x10], scissors, stickers, printed image, Mod Podge, foam brush, bowl to poor the Mod Podge in.

After you cut your image [as close to the actual picture], then you need to position it where you want it on the canvas. Don't use the Mod Podge yet! You want to make sure everything is where you want it first.

Now you need to get them stickers out. Since I have an airplane, we're obviously using the "A" and "airplane" letters. Just lay them out like you did the airplane image first. And don't stick them down too hard, not that they stick to canvas well anyways.

Okay, now you have all your stickers and image where you want it. Now you can use the Mod Podge. Be very easy and do the backside of the airplane image first. Make sure you put a good amount and that there aren't any air pockets. Go over the image and letters very easily. I also did 2 coats on the top of everything.

My son, Nickalaus, had an airplane image that I had printed too small. He was making his own to put on my door. Sweet of him right? Plus he's rockin those Car's underwear as well.

Let it dry for a couple hours or so, I don't know the exact time because I was crazy busy when doing this. Then you have this awesomeness. Yeah, I noticed the "ane" in the lettering is a little crooked, but I can never make a straight line. LOL!

I love the way it turned out and so does Nick! The project didn't cost me anything, because I had everything on hand. If you had to buy all of your supplies though, I'd say about $10 max for the whole project. So you save $59!!! At Hobby Lobby the canvas prints come in 2 packs, so you could grab 2 if you wanted to do the ABC's. I'll probably do 4 of them total to go along with Nick's room that I just finished painting.

If anyone makes their own, I would be tickled to see your result.
