My newest project

This past week, I've been slackin in the laundry department. I go out to the garage during the day to do some, and it's so dang hot that I decide to do it at night. Problem is, I'm either not home or so tired that it doesn't get done. So last night before going on patrol with Jason, I got a laundry out of the dryer and a load started. Now I just need to keep up with it today. My bathroom has also been neglected :/ Whoops! Need to get on that too. This past weekend, I let me parents take the truck since my brother had their car in Tennessee. Jason worked all day both days, so Nick and I took him to work. I got some errands done, and just browsed around. Yesterday I decided to take on a new project.

See back in November, Jason had lost his job and it wasn't looking good for us. I had to take a job for a month until he got into this class that he needed to pursue a career that he really loved. So when that happened, Nickalaus started have separation anxiety from me. I was gone at bedtime a lot, and he wasn't liking it at all! He started sleeping in our bed, and needless to say I haven't been able to get him back in his bed. He wouldn't stay asleep in there. So, I had an idea to fix his room and hope that it works. I turned it into a surprise! I let him pick out the paint, well the blues.
He picked Olympic, Freshwater Blue, which I just happened to like myself. Then I was going to get a tan, like sand color, but I found a darker tan on the clearance shelf for $5. I decided to get it, and make it lighter with my white if need be. Then I got some tile grout, actually have to exchange it because I got the wrong kind, but I'm going to turn the tan color into chalk paint. I'm painting probably 3/4 of one wall in chalk paint, which Nick is excited about. Then I have some other ideas. I need to measure his window and get a rod and curtain. I will probably just make the curtain. So I have to clean the walls, and get the room ready to be painted. Now I'm wondering how smart this was lol. So for paint I got 3 gallons, 1 tan, 2 blues, and man that stuff isn't cheap!! I will keep y'all updated as I start our Surprise!

  2. Thanks Jay! Yeah, I'm hoping that if he helps, that he'll be more apt to love it. I love that you stop by quite often, thanks for that! It's nice to know I'm not talking to a wall hahah!

  3. I think chalkboard walls are fantastic ideas. I'm 22 years old and my office is prepped for one, so I know he's going to have a ball with it!

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who slacks on laundry because the heat is so ridiculous :(

  4. Thanks Ashley! Yeah, I happen to love chalkboard for myself too haha! I know right, the heat is ridiculous. It's too hot to wash clothes and cook on the stove!
